Arsenal set to issue transfer ultimatum

Real Madrid's Gonzalo HiguainArsenal have urged Gonzalo Higuain to reach a decision regarding his future, according to reports from The Metro.

The Gunners have been pursuing the Argentine hit-man for a number of months, and were believed to be on the verge of tying up a deal just a matter of weeks ago.

However, the player himself appears to be stalling as he weighs up his options, with Carlo Ancelotti’s plans at Real Madrid believed to have impressed him.

Arsenal have reportedly agreed a club record fee with the Spaniards, and have settled on a £150,000-per-week contract with the 25-year-old.

Although they are still keen to conclude the move, Arsenal are growing frustrated by Higuain’s failure to commit.

Arsene Wenger is desperate to kick start his summer business, and has urged the prolific front-man to reach a decision to avoid a transfer window of uncertainty.

The Frenchman has made attacking reinforcements one of his priorities, as he looks to secure a smoother passage to Champions League qualification and mount a possible title challenge next season.

If Higuain opts to stay at the Bernabeu, the Londoners may up their interest in wantaway Liverpool star Luis Suarez, who is valued at around £40m.

Arsenal fans, do you want Gonzalo Higuain? Or would you rather see Luis Suarez up front?
