Arsenal are ready to reignite their chase for Velez Sarsfield wonderkid Maxi Romero after the initial move for his services broke down, Mirror reports.
The 17-year-old was set to complete a £4.5million transfer to the Emirates last year, but the switch was called off when he damaged his knee ligaments.
However, the Gunners are now said to be plotting another move for the striker should he be able to prove his fitness following his recovery.
Manager Arsene Wenger is believed keen to reinforce his attacking options, with Danny Welbeck having been ruled out until early 2017 with a serious knee injury, while Olivier Giroud’s form dipped alarmingly towards the end of last season.
Wenger is ready to add a host of players into his ranks during the upcoming window after losing ground in the race for the league title later in the campaign.
In addition to that, the English giants are also closing in on a deal to sign Borussia Monchengladbach star Granit Xhaka.
