Some players are specialists at cutting out attacks, some are excellent at putting the ball in the net and others are tailored towards helping their team-mates with clever passes. Santi Cazorla slots into the latter category, and, as the stats show, he’s bleedin’ good at it! The Spaniard laid on another assist for Olivier Giroud at Newcastle this afternoon, taking his tally for Arsenal in the Premier League to 27.
That number itself sound impressive but as the good people at Opta point out, that figure is the highest of any player over the period in which Santi has been in England – he joined the Londoners in 2012 from Malaga. WOW!
Bear in mind that he’s also competing with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey for a starting place!
Somebody get the lad a nice glass of sangria! Well in, Cazorla!
27 – Since he moved to the Premier League, Santi Cazorla has made more assists than any other player in the competition. Selfless.
