The England international is a reported £30m target for the Citizens this summer, with the sky blue-clad side keen to lure in more home-grown talent to help with both strengthening their squad and filling quota requirements.
Speculation that such a move could happen has been fuelled by Wilshere’s uncertain role in Arsene Wenger’s plans, with the Frenchman possessing a wealth of midfield options aside from the injury-ravaged ace.
However, Parlour – a former player and a respected figure within the club’s fan base – is sure that the 23-year-old will still be in the red and white shirt by the start of the 2015/16 campaign:
“It’s a massive season for Jack Wilshere,” he told talkSPORT. “He needs to stay injury free, that’s the most important thing.
“We know how much ability he’s got but he needs to stay fit. You can see the potential he’s got.
“I think he’ll be an Arsenal player next year, he loves the club. I’m expecting him to have a key role next season for Arsenal.”
Wilshere recently netted two excellent goals to help England to EURO 2016 qualification victory over Slovenia.
