Arsenal starlet Reiss Nelson has emerged on the radar of England boss Gareth Southgate after his fine start to the season, The Mirror reports.

What's the word?

While Arsenal have found momentum under Unai Emery to win 10 consecutive matches across all competitions, the Gunners have seen another player on their books impress during his spell away from North London.

18-year-old Reiss Nelson has hit the ground running in the first few months of his time on loan with Hoffenheim, scoring four Bundesliga goals in as many games as well as netting twice for England's U21 side during the recent international break.

According to The Mirrorthis has led Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate to eye the young winger as a candidate to be fast-tracked into the senior set-up after Jadon Sancho achieved a similar feat in the last few weeks.

How good can he be?

After breaking onto the scene during Arsene Wenger's last season in charge of the club, some eyebrows were raised when Nelson was allowed to leave to spend the season on loan with Hoffenheim - particularly as the Gunners do not have too many options in the wide positions.

Nelson's spell in Germany has proven to be perfect for all parties though and it represents a successful piece of business by Unai Emery, who has seen the teenager impress with Hoffenheim and could be in with a chance of regular first-team action next season.

With the player's stock rising significantly, the fact that Arsenal secured Nelson down to a new long-term deal prior to his move to Germany represents a significant piece of business from the club and may just be Emery's best deal to date.
