It’s understood that the German World Cup winner’s frustrations with his first-team role at the Emirates Stadium and their perceived blocking of a January move to Inter Milan boiled over at the Gunners’ HQ.
Podolski has not travelled with the Arsenal quad for the New Year’s Day game at Southampton, with his absence officially put down to a groin injury.
The 29-year-old is reportedly angry with the treatment he’s been receiving from Wenger, who has handed him just 99 minutes of Premier League action this season – all of which has come from the bench.
Podolski has long been committed to Arsenal, but his patience has been tested this term due to seeing the likes of Yaya Sanogo being picked ahead of him for big games.
Inter are known to be keen on the ex-Bayern Munich man, who is also attracting interest from his homeland.
