Arsenal’s hopes of securing Mauro Icardi’s signature have taken a huge hit, with Gianluca Di Marzio reporting that Napoli are deep in discussions with the Inter Milan ace and that the club’s president is even willing to offer his wife, and agent, a role in an upcoming film to seal the deal.
The Argentine forward’s future has been the subject of much debate of late, with rumours having circulated just last week that the player’s partner, Wanda Nara, was in London for talks with Arsene Wenger.
Icardi has, however, since emerged as Napoli’s main target following Gonzalo HIguain’s proposed move to Juventus, with the South American a like-for-like replacement for his compatriot in Naples.
And reports claim that the club’s president is willing to offer Nara a role in an upcoming film in a bid to ensure the transfer goes ahead.
Aurelio De Laurentiis is a well-known movie producer in his homeland and owns the company Filmauro.
It’s understood that he’s willing to offer Nara, a model and celebrity figure in Italy, a place in his upcoming movie ‘Natale a Londra’ (Christmas in London).
Although Arsenal can present Icardi with Premier League action and regular Champions League football, they cannot match such a proposal for Nara.
