Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo is expected to complete a loan move to French side Bordeaux this week.
The 21-year-old has struggled since arriving from Auxerre in 2013, scoring just one goal in 19 Premier League outings for the Gunners.
A move away from the Emirates Stadium this month was always on the cards and, despite Lorient showing some early interest, it appears Ligue 1 side Bordeaux are now in pole position to land the striker.
The club’s president Jean Louis Tiraud said Gold FM: “Sanogo wants to come on loan to Bordeaux, and he has told his manager Arsene Wenger that.
“We are working on bringing Sanogo to Bordeaux. We are going all in on this target. We have asked Arsenal to give us an answer on Tuesday or Wednesday latest.”
With Wenger reportedly doubting the striker’s ability and Sanogo himself asking for a move back to France, a deal is expected to be wrapped up by Wednesday this week.
