Arsenal table unexpected transfer bid for J-League assassin

According to reports from Sanyo News, Arsenal have tabled a formal transfer bid for Sanfrecce Hiroshima striker Takuma Asano.

Despite being relatively unknown in Europe, the 21-year-old is rapidly emerging as one of the most exciting young players Asian football has to offer.

Indeed, he’s already bagged 20 goals for Sanfrecce at senior level, including a return of five in nine during 2016, and picked up four caps for the Japanese national team.

Sanyo News claim Arsenal have launched a formal transfer bid for the 5 foot 7 striker and  manager Arsene Wenger does have ties in the J-League, winning the Emperor’s Cup whilst in charge of Nagoya Grampus in 1995.

Likewise, the Gunners are known to be on the lookout for added striking options this summer, having already activated Jamie Vardy’s £20million release clause.

However, the Leicester City striker snubbed the chance to join the Gunners in favour of signing a new long-term contract at the King Power Stadium.
