Arsenal are reported to be interested in Barcelona full-back Dani Alves as the North London side seek to strengthen their defence.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has come under fire for failing to address a lack of defensive cover in the team, and with Laurent Koscielny and Mathieu Debuchy both currently sidelined through injury, the Frenchman has had to assemble a makeshift backline in recent weeks.
Wenger has acknowledged that defensive reinforcements are needed, which could see him make a move for Alves at the end of the season.
The 31 year-old will be out of contract in the summer, and while he has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, the Gunners are now keen to secure his signature.
The Brazilian joined the Catalan giants in 2008 and has enjoyed considerable success at the Nou Camp, lifting the Champions League twice as well as the La Liga title four times.
