Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels is expected to be one of Arsenal‘s main transfer targets in the January transfer window after the German indicated that he is ready to leave the Bundesliga side.
Hummels has been valued at £30 million and has also been linked with a move to Manchester United, but the 25 year-old reportedly favours a move to London.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has come under fire for failing to strengthen his side’s defence over the summer, and with the club currently plagued by a raft of injuries at the back, a defensive signing is believed to be a priority in January.
Although Aston Villa centre-back Ron Vlaar and Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk are also on the Frenchman’s radars, Hummels is understood to be his preferred choice, and Wenger has asked to be kept informed of any developments regarding the German.
Arsenal head to Swansea on Sunday in 5th place in the Premier League with 17 points.
