Arsenal target Spanish international

Juve striker Fernando Llorente

Premier League leaders Arsenal could swoop for Spain striker Fernando Llorente in an effort to end their trophy drought, The Daily Mirror reports.

The Gunners have been in exceptional form this season, having not lost since the opening day.

But manager Arsene Wenger is still keen to improve his squad depth, following the arrival of German star Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid and it seems Spaniard Llorente could head up his January wish-list.

The striker has struggled since moving to Juventus in the summer, scoring just once in six appearances. And with competition from the likes of Carlos Tevez and Mirko Vucinic, it is thought a move to London would tempt Llorente, who is desperate to secure a place at next summer’s World Cup.

Any move is likely to be a loan, however, with Arsenal considering  the player a short-term solution and him already being cup-tied for the Champions League.
