Arsenal to make move for PSG hitman

Arsenal have been given the go-ahead to sign Paris Saint Germain hitman Edinson Cavani after the forward reportedly handed in a transfer request, according to Metro.

The Gunners are keen to strengthen their attack in the summer to build on what promises to be a successful season – the North London outfit can win a second FA Cup in succession and finish as runners-up in the league.

However, long-serving manager Arsene Wenger is determined to make Arsenal serious challengers for the title next season, which could see him swoop for Uruguayan Cavani as he looks to bolster an already-impressive strikeforce.

There have also been claims from Italy which say the £55 million-rated hitman has handed in a transfer request at current club PSG.

The French club have previously said that they would not let him go but they have been left reeling by his demands to leave.

The Gunners play Hull City away in the Premier League on Monday night.
