Arsenal to make shock move for Tottenham flop

Arsenal are weighing up a stunning January move for Tottenham outcast Vlad Chiriches, according to reports from The Metro.

The Romanian defender only moved to White Hart Lane last year, but a shocking first season in England has led to rumours that he’s been told he can leave the club if a suitor is found.

This has alerted Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who is known to be in the market for a new centre-back.

Juventus and Inter Milan are seen as the favourites to loan the much-maligned centre-back, but Arsenal are considering a move in light of Calum Chambers and Nacho Monreal’s forced conversions to play at the heart of the backline this term.

The Gunners are willing to pay up for a permanent deal, which may tempt Tottenham, with chairman Daniel Levy desperate to get rid of the enforcer.

Very few players have made the move across north London, with Sol Campbell, perhaps, the most famous example of such a deal.
