Arsenal to return for Spaniard in January

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to revive his summer interest in Barcelona star Pedro during the January transfer window, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The Gunners chased the Spaniard prior to signing Alexis Sanchez, but failed to convince the Catalan club to sell their man.

But with a series of injuries having hit his midfield and attack, Wenger is keen to push through a deal for the 27-year-old in the New Year.

And he may have a chance of doing so, with Pedro himself worried about his first-team prospects when Luis Suarez returns from his lengthy ban.

The Uruguayan – who cost £75m when signed from Liverpool – is expected to be given a prominent role in a front three alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar, which would see the current Camp Nou star ousted.

Pedro is likely to cost upwards of £25m and would bring Arsenal plenty of experience given that he’s won four La Liga titles, two Champions League, the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 European Championships.
