Arsenal transfer boost… One of La Liga’s best ready to reject Southampton

Sevilla’s impressive defensive midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak is ready to snub a potential summer move to Southampton due to their lack of Champions League football, which leaves the door open for Arsenal to firm up their interest, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The Poland international enjoyed a stunning debut campaign with the Europa League champions last term, with his domestic performances earning him a spot in respected Spanish football expert Guillem Balague’s XI of the season.

Arsenal have subsequently been linked with a move for him, but the Saints have, reportedly, firmed up their interest with a concrete £8.7m offer – albeit it was rejected.

And their pursuit of the player looks set to end in disappointment, with Krychowiak not ready to entertain the idea of playing at St Mary’s Stadium without Champions League football on offer.

This could boost Arsenal’s chances of landing the all-action midfielder, who is set to feature in Europe’s top club competition with Sevilla after helping them to win the Europa League.
