Arsenal urged to make massive offer for midfield star

Stand-in Newcastle boss John Carver has revealed that Arsenal target Moussa Sissoko will be going nowhere this month unless a “ridiculous” offer for his signature is received.

The Frenchman’s Magpies future has been the subject of some doubt in recent weeks, after the midfielder revealed his love for the Gunners, who have been linked with a move for his services.

A £16m offer was mooted earlier this winter to take the ex-Toulouse man from the North East to north London, yet not official bids have come to fruition.

And speaking ahead of Newcastle’s weekend clash with Hull, Carver revealed that unless a mega bid comes in before next week’s transfer deadline, Sissoko will stay the black and white shirt for the remainder of the season.

“If you see the way he plays and trains, I’m telling you now – he’s going nowhere.” He is quoted by the Daily Star.

“Unless somebody comes in with a ridiculous amount of money, he’s going nowhere.

“He’s focused and he’s got his mind on the job. He’s been first class.”

Liverpool have also been linked with Sissoko, who has shone this season after Newcastle’s miserable opening few weeks to the campaign.
