The Dutch centre-back is considered to be one of the finest talents in Scottish football and has been a massive hit in Glasgow since his 2013 arrival from Groningen.
And Boyd – who used to captain Celtic – feels that the 23-year-old would be a great signing for the Gunners, even though he wants him to stay with his old side:

“Selfishly, I hope he doesn’t because I want him to stay at Celtic for a number of years.
“He gives everything in every game and he has performed exceptionally well. That’s why he has come to the attention of sides like Arsenal. He has everything in his locker to go down there. He has pace, power and can score goals.”
Van Dijk has already confessed that leaving Celtic is an option for him, opening the door for a summer switch.
The defender enjoyed a wonderful 2013/14 campaign and was considered to be an outsider for the Netherlands’ World Cup squad.
