The Gunners are one of a host of sides tracking the Dutchman, who has been impressive in the Scottish top tier since his move from Groningen last year.
While a number of sides are tracking Van Dijk, Arsene Wenger’s men are thought to be the most interested party, with injuries having forced the Frenchman into using Nacho Monreal and Calum Chambers – both full-backs – as emergency central defenders this season.
Although Celtic are expected to struggle to hold onto the 23-year-old for the long-term, Delia says that he wants the centre-back to stay, and that any side looking to lure him away from Celtic Park will have to pay big:
“It will not be a surprise for me if there is interest in Van Dijk in January, but he will be very expensive,” he is quoted by talkSPORT.
“Van Dijk is a fantastic player who keeps on improving and I hope he stays with us.”
Van Dijk is thought to be valued at around £10m by Celtic.
