Reports have suggested Arsene Wenger has a £70million transfer kitty this summer, and is ready to sign the Belgian ‘keeper in the transfer window.
Mignolet had also been linked with Liverpool, but it seems the Reds have turned their attention elsewhere, leaving the door open for the Gunners. And with Champions League football to offer, it seems Mignolet could be leaving Paolo Di Canio’s side t this summer.
Sunderland signed the Belgian for just £2million in 2010, and the 24-year-old has since become one of the top ‘keepers in the league.
After keeping 11 clean sheets this campaign, Wenger is looking to bring Mignolet in to replace Wojciech Szczesny as the number 1 goalkeeper at the club.
Sunderland only just avoided relegation from the Premier League, and it seems Arsenal’s ambitions will persuade Mignolet to join the club.
