Arsenal have announced that youngster Tyreece John-Jules has signed his first professional contract at the club.

The North London outfit confirmed on their official website that the 17-year-old striker has put pen to paper after impressing for the club's Under-23s and Under-18s this season.

John-Jules, who has been part of the club since May 2009, has been a star in the team's FA Youth Cup, scoring against Liverpool and Middlesbrough.

Nowadays, it can be difficult for young players to be given a chance at the top level due to the influx of big names being bought from other clubs.

John-Jules has shone on the youth stage and will hope to continue his development and eventually force his way into the first team.

The majority of Arsenal fans sent congratulatory messages on Twitter, while others were more interested in his name.
