Arsenal star hopes lessons have been learned

Robin Van Persie has warned his Arsenal teammates to learn lessons from last season's failings, if they want to maintain their push for the Premier League title.

The Dutch striker has been in impressive form for the Gunners this season, in what has been an excellent start for the North Londoners; however Van Persie hopes that Arsenal will sustain their focus, especially against the lesser sides in the Premier League, to avoid the dropping of points that plagued them last season.

"We're very encouraged by some of the other league results because when you look at last weekend, Liverpool and Chelsea lost. We've played eight games now and won six.

"It's looking good for us as long as we stay consistent against the smaller teams. We need to keep getting three points against them.

"Last season, we lost some games we should have won and we later had five back-to-back draws. We have to avoid that. Time will show how well we will do." (Sun)
