The Gunners waved their goodbyes to the United States in spectacular fashion.
The last game of the 2019 summer pre-season tour abroad pitted them against none other than Real Madrid, and it was Los Blancos who exited the bout victorious.
But not after some dramatic affairs that included two red cards, four goals and a penalty shootout to determine the winner.
And unfortunately for the team from London, Nacho Monreal’s shot ended up kissing the post and Robbie Burton blazed one over the bar to decide the tie.
Still, it’s the experience and preparation that counts and the usual suspects impressed once again.
Both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were on the scoresheet for Arsenal, and the Frenchman took to Instagram to share a brilliant snap with his “partner in crime” after the game.
It was quite a fitting photo of the tandem bowing to each other as the team left Washington DC to return back to England.
Of course, the snap attracted some attention from other stars and Samuel Umtiti, Barcelona defender and also Lacazette’s compatriot, was seemingly in awe of the photo.
