European football can be a bit complex. Fancy formations, unpronounceable names and rules and regulations, and it seems that a certain ex-Arsenal player got a little overwhelmed this evening. Emmanuel Frimpong is the gift that keeps on giving on Twitter, with the former Gunners star a prolific user of social media, giving interesting glimpses into his life and opinions.
He’s frequently got himself into hot water, but tonight he’s really made himself a laughing stock. With Arsenal trailing Monaco 3-1 from their home leg, the Londoners need to score AT LEAST THREE GOALS to have any chance of going through, with the Ligue 1 side having notched three efforts at the Emirates, which will count as double should the game end tie end with an aggregate 3-3 scoreline.
However, Frimpong got himself a little confused by the Herculean – no side has come back from such a deficit in the Champions League knockout phase – task facing his old side, hoping that a 2-0 victory would be enough. Oh, Emmanuel.
If Arsenal win 2-0 they go through?
