‘The star of the show’ at the Emirates was, once again, £35million summer signing Alexis Sanchez, who assisted Laurent Koscienly for the Gunners’ opener before recording a brace.
That brings the Chilean forward’s season total to twelve goals and seven assists in 20 Premier League appearances, making him in some way responsible for 52% of the north London outfits 37 league goals.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has heaped further praise on his in-form team-mate, as reported by Arsenal’s Official Website, quipping post-match; “He’s amazing. He shows it week-in, week-out and I think that’s the most important thing for top players to do. It’s about consistency and it’s not good enough to just be good one week.
“Hopefully it continues for him because he’s having a great season, he’s brimming with confidence and obviously it helps the team as well so it was another great performance from him.
“There were a lot of good performances out there but obviously with the two goals and the assist, he’s the star of the show.”
