Having finally ended their dire nine game win-less streak against West Ham, Arsenal return to Europa League action on Thursday night having slept a bit more comfortably.

Freddie Ljungberg's side recorded a 3-1 victory against the Hammers on Monday evening, with some of their key stars like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe taking centre-stage. But against Standard Liege on Thursday, the Gunners know that only a heavy defeat will see them miss out on qualification to the knockout stages of European football's second-tier competition.

And with a huge clash against Premier League champions Manchester City immediately on the horizon, Ljungberg may decide to unleash some of the club's highly-rated youngsters and give some of his more senior stars a much-needed rest. With that in mind, below is a look at how the north London side might line up.

Arsenal's potential line-up to face Standard Liege

In goal, Emiliano Martinez will likely resume cup duties with Bernd Leno being reserved specifically for the Premier League this season. In front of him, Hector Bellerin is unlikely to be risked having had to pull out of the West Ham game during the warm-ups, and Kieran Tierney's shoulder problem will surely rule him out too. That could once again mean Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Sead Kolasinac play at full-back.

In central defence, David Luiz come could back into the first-team line-up, with Rob Holding potentially making his return from injury too. In midfield, Matteo Guendouzi has arguably been one of the main casualties of Ljungberg's early weeks in charge, but the Frenchman should be restored on Thursday night, whilst Joe Willock may be given the chance to shine after being hauled off at half-time against Brighton.

Trivia addicts will love this quiz: How much did Arsenal pay for each of these players?

Further ahead, the likes of Reiss Nelson, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe could make for an all-academy attacking midfield trio - a prospect that Ljungberg (the club's former U23s boss) would be very keen to see. And having been left out of the line-up against the Hammers, Alexandre Lacazette is surely in line to start up top.

Meanwhile, Arsenal fans have hailed this man's assured display at the back against West Ham
