Attacker heading for Bernabeu exit but Arsenal & Man City want discounted deals

According to reports from El Confidential, Arsenal and Manchester City are hoping to sign Real Madrid star James Rodriguez at a discounted rate during the summer transfer window.

Los Blancos splashed out a whopping £65million on the Colombian international after watching him claim the Golden Boot award at the 2014 World Cup but he’s worryingly struggled for fitness and form during the 2015/16 season.

Agent Jorge Mendes recently held talks with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez regarding the attacking midfielder’s future at the Bernabeu and it appears both the club and the player are prepared to part company during the summer transfer window.

The Spanish publication claims Arsenal and Manchester City have both expressed an interest in the 24-year-old, who amassed an impressive 17 goals and 17 assists in 46 appearances for the La Liga giants last season.

However, they’re only willing to sign Rodriguez with a ‘significant discount’ on his current €70million market value.
