Serial Champions League winners Real Madrid are the latest European giant to express an interest in Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey, TEAMtalk reports.

What's the word?

Further changes are afoot at Arsenal as it is increasingly likely that Aaron Ramsey will leave North London in 2019, though it remains to be seen whether a deal will be agreed in January or if he will seal a free transfer at the end of the campaign.

The Gunners have pulled out of contract renewal talks with the 27-year-old and the Wales international has subsequently attracted interest from a host of clubs across the Premier League and Europe, with Real Madrid the latest to join the running.

TEAMtalk says the defending European champions have sounded out Gareth Bale about the possibility of bringing his close friend to join him at the Santiago Bernabeu, and he could be a potential long-term replacement for Toni Kroos or Luka Modric.

Will Arsenal hit the jackpot?

Sending Ramsey to Real Madrid would be a huge success for Arsenal, mostly because it would see the Gunners avoid losing a key player to a Premier League rival - like they have done previously with the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Robin van Persie.

Perhaps more significantly though is that it would craft another rag to riches story in Arsenal's fine record of developing star players, having pinched Ramsey from Cardiff City as a teenager and helping to transform him into a top-class midfielder.

Arsenal have got their service from the 27-year-old and seem to believe he is not worth a new megabucks deal at the Emirates Stadium, but that decision could come back to haunt Unai Emery if Ramsey was to stay in the Premier League.

Therefore, Arsenal should do everything they can to seal Ramsey a move that would unite him with compatriot Gareth Bale.
