Xavi has revealed that Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla is one of the players he’d sign for Barcelona if given the opportunity.
The Gunners playmaker has been in superb form of late, with a fine display in the 2-0 win over Manchester City – in which he netted a penalty and set up Olivier Giroud – the latest in a long line of impressive outings.
However, even though the 30-year-old firmly in favour at the Emirates Stadium, with his contract due to expire in 2016, a long future in north London is by no means guaranteed.
And Xavi – who played a big role in Barca’s public pursuit of then Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas back in 2011 – says that he would love to bring Cazorla to the Nou Camp:
“There is some great Spanish football talent around. Who would I sign for Barcelona? [David] Silva and Cazorla.” He is quoted by The Metro.
Cazorla was linked with a move back to his homeland last year, with Atletico Madrid believed to have been interested in the former Villarreal man.
