Marseille are poised to ease their financial difficulties by selling some their players this summer and defensive duo Souleymane Diawara and Nicolas N’Koulou are the first players that will leave the club.
Cameroonian N’Koulou has been targeted by a number of Premier League clubs and Marseille will most likely accept an offer for the 22-year-old starlet providing it is substantial and meets their estimate of £15million. Arsenal and Chelsea have both sent scouts to watch the player and Barcelona are also thought to be interested.
N’Koulou would be happy with a move to the Premier League but only if his current club are satisfied with the deal and willing to let him leave.
“I want to finish the season strongly and then we will talk about my position,” he told Sky Sports.
“I love Marseille, they have been great to me. I am happy if everyone is a winner.”
Centre-back Diawara has spent his whole career in France apart from a short loan spell at Charlton Athletic and he will be hoping that another French team will show interest in the summer as he believes he still has a couple of years playing time left in his top-flight career.
“At the end of the season, we will all know where we stand,” Diawara said.
“I want to play at least two more years at the top level, and to be honest I think I can do that.”
