Chelsea fans want to see more of Ross Barkley after impressive West Ham performance

Chelsea fans were not impressed with the performance by their team on Sunday when they were held to a 0-0 by West Ham United at the London Stadium. But, the fans are particularly unimpressed with how their midfield operated in the match.

Many of them have criticised the attacking roll that N’Golo Kanté is currently playing, while they also want to see Ross Barkley given a chance in the starting XI.

Barkley replaced Mateo Kovacic in the 78th minute on Sunday and made an immediate impact. The 24-year-old almost broke the deadlock in the 90th minute when he curled a shot from outside the box that looked like it was heading for the bottom left corner, but West Ham keeper Lukasz Fabianski just about got there to make the save.

Barkley also performed well last Thursday in Chelsea’s 1-0 win over PAOK in the Europa League, setting up Willian for the only goal of the match in the sixth minute.

Chelsea face Liverpool twice this week and it could be a good test for Barkley if manager Maurizio Sarri lets him start in one of those matches.
