Exclusive: 57% want Giroud to lead the line against Arsenal

One of Arsenal’s biggest strengths this season has been the sheer variety of players at Arsene Wenger’s disposal.┬áIndeed, there’s still something a little one-dimensional about the Gunners, lacking that ‘Plan B’ the rest of the top six seem to have, but Le Prof has been able to mix it up a lot more this term with decent depth in all departments.

That includes the front-line, where Arsenal have two players in fantastic form. Alexis Sanchez proved a revelation at centre-forward at the start of the season, notching up 14 goals and nine assists in that role, but the attritional demands of the festive period have seen Wenger quite rightly bring old-fashioned No.9 Olivier Giroud back into the fold.

A run of four goals and two assists in his last four appearances has seen the Frenchman create the right kind of headaches for his manager; namely, trying to decide who Arsenal’s best option actually is when it comes to leading the line.

Due to travel to relegation-bound Swansea City this Saturday in what could well be the biggest slaughter in the Premier League this weekend, the right man up front could see the Gunners accumulate a cricket score.

But who is the right man to batter the Welsh outfit? Football FanCast asked our readers that exact question last weekend and we can now exclusively reveal that a small majority – 57% – want Giroud to continue his berth up front this Saturday. Will Wenger see it the same way?
