Fiorentina attacker Stevan Jovetic has been warned off of a move to Arsenal by team-mate Luca Toni.
The Montenegrin international has been heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League for some time, with a number of top clubs, including the Gunners, said to be interested.
Jovetic admitted earlier this week that he could be tempted to leave Serie A to join the north Londoners, as speculation surrounding a summer transfer intensifies.
However, Toni, a former Italian international, believes that the 23-year-old should be aiming to play for the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City or Manchester United rather than Arsenal:
“I tell him to think carefully before leaving Florence, as there is an important project here.” He is quoted by Sky Sports.
“If he has to leave, then make it for a real top club. Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United fit that bill, but Arsenal are not better than Fiorentina.”
Jovetic has been in fine form for Fiorentina this term, helping the Viola in their battle for Champions League qualification.
His performances have made him one of the most sought after attacking players in Europe, with a number of the continent’s elite sides all monitoring the situation.
Jovetic started his career with Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade before moving to Florence as a youngster in 2008.
