Petr Cech is still a top-class keeper and David Ospina is one of the finest back-up options in the Premier League but both are not adequate long-term options for the Gunners – whilst they’ve also had shaky performances in recent outings.

Arsenal struggled long-term in the wake of Jens Lehmann’s decline and should have learned their lesson. The club needs to identify a younger stopper who can play between the sticks for the next five years or more.
