FIVE reasons Arsenal should give transfer a wide berth

Arsenal are widely expected to follow up their £40million plus £1bid for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez this summer, as Arsene Wenger attempts to break the habit of a life-time by spending big on a star striker to propel the Gunners back towards the Premier League title race.

We are all aware of the Uruguay international’s on pitch abilities; last term, Suarez finished up with 23 goals and five assists in 33 top flight appearances, with some incredibly  individual and talismanic displays to make Brendan Rodgers inaugural Anfield campaign somewhat easier than it could have been.

But the sensational pedigree is just one side of a double-edged sword, with the other being the 26 year old’s knack for controversy and disturbing ill-discipline.

With that in mind, and to simply play devil’s advocate, we look at FIVE reasons why spending in excess of £50million on the Liverpool forward would be a bad idea for the Gunners.
