FIVE reasons why Arsenal still aren’t contenders

Arsenal have started the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign in incredibly strong fashion, barring their opening day 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa, and are currently sitting pretty at the top of the table with 12 points from five games.

As a result, there’s a lot of talk about the Gunners awakening from their dormant state to once again become an effective force in the title race, and some have even tipped the North Londoners to win the domestic accolade, including Arsene Wenger and Theo Walcott.

But there’s still some way to go before they can rival the pedigree or depth of last season’s top three- Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea – and to suggest they’re a shoe-in for the title is rather absurd.
