The Luis Suarez-Arsenal deal would have been the PR stunt of the summer, had Mike Ashley not linked Newcastle with a shock bid for Wayne Rooney via his own football news website.
Consider the logic on Brendan Rodgers’ part – he valued Suarez at £40million when Real Madrid and Bayern Munich were interested (according to the tabloids at least), so why would the Liverpool boss surrender his striker for £10m, or even £5m less, to a Premier League rival?
Either way, it seems that Arsenal‘s apparent bid is more an attempt to improve their image after years of conservative spending, rather than an honest pursuit of the Reds forward.
That doesn’t change the fact the Gunners desperately need a new striker ahead of next season, if they are to gain ground on Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City.
With that in mind, we take a look at the FIVE strikers available this summer who could do a job at the Emirates.
