Former Arsenal target claims he would ‘destroy’ the Premier League

Paris St Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has claimed that he would destroy the Premier League if he were to move to England, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

Ibrahimovic will not be going to the World Cup this summer, despite claiming he is the best player in the world, although his form for PSG in Ligue 1 and the Champions League is unquestionable.

The Swedish striker was asked to join Arsenal as a youngster but he turned down that chance as he wanted a permanent contract rather than the unpredictability of a trial.

Ibrahimovic has admitted that he was close to coming to England but the former Barcelona flop believes he would destroy the league as he claims to have done in Italy, Spain and France.

“England is a very strong league, with three or four of the best teams in Europe – but, if I had played there, I would have destroyed it, like I have everywhere else,” Ibrahimovic said.

“Arsenal could have happened, as everybody knows – but I would not do a trial. Who do you think regrets that more, Arsene Wenger or Zlatan?

“I’m always amused when I am asked about not having tested myself in England.”
