David Ospina is facing the axe at Arsenal following the summer arrival of Bernt Leno, according to The Telegraph, and Fulham would be his ideal destination.
The report claims that the arrival of German international Leno from Bayer Leverkusen has necessitated the sale of one of the senior goalkeepers already on the books at the Emirates; either Ospina or Petr Cech.
The Telegraph say that it is Colombian international who is the one who will be let go as Unai Emery sets about trimming his squad ready for the coming season.
One area where the Premier League is generally very strong is in the goalkeeping department. A look down the top flight shows that many clubs already have a top-class stopper between the sticks.
However, Fulham got promoted last season with Marcus Bettinelli in goal and after selling David Button to Brighton, need at least one new ‘keeper through the door before the big kick-off.
It is good to see a young English talent like Bettinelli given a chance but the European and international experience of Ospina would add another dimension and Slavisa Jokanovic should see if a deal is there to be done.
It would work for Ospina, who would not need to leave London, and the only other club who obviously need a goalkeeping upgrade are Crystal Palace, and even they have signed Vicente Guaita already this summer.
