Julian Draxler says that he is eager to rediscover his best form to lure the likes of Arsenal back into the race for his signature.
The Gunners were heavily linked with the Germany international in January, but negotiations broke down as Schalke demanded that his £37m release clause had to be triggered.
A return offer this summer was expected, but the London club have swerved the 20-year-old, instead moving for Alexis Sanchez.
Both Chelsea and Tottenham have also been linked with Draxler, who is considered to be one of Europe’s top young talents, and the player himself says that he’s keen to perform to the best of his abilities to attract big clubs after a dip in form last term:
“The [buy-out clause] stayed with me,” he is quoted by The Express.
“I did not play like 20 clubs were ready to pay this sum for me last season. I have to become attractive to big clubs again.
“This season, 10 goals should be possible for me. If our squad stays together, we can compete for the top three places.”
Draxler only managed two goals in 26 Bundesliga outings last season, but he is still thought to remain on the radars of top teams across Europe.
