Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed he will be taking part in the January transfer window, as reported by London 24.
The Gunners have been crippled by an extensive injury list this season, with Jack Wilshere and Mikel Arteta the latest to join the likes of Mesut Ozil, Mathieu Debuchy, Wojciech Szczesny and Theo Walcott on the sidelines.
And the Frenchman insists he will have to delve in to the January sales in order to plug the gaps left by his crocked stars.
He said: “In January we will of course try to get at least one body in.
“January might be a month when we have nearly everybody back because [Laurent] Koscielny is back in the squad, Debuchy will be back I think in two weeks.
“We have gone through a period where we are very short but we discovered as well that players have learnt their job well in the centre-back position, like [Nacho] Monreal and he is doing very well now.”
But Wenger denied any reports linking want away striker Lukas Podolski with a move away from the Emirates in January.
“I have had no enquiry about Podolski from anybody,” he claimed.
“I have good connections with Lukas and we talk about the situation.
“He faces big competition on the flanks and basically that is the consequence of him not getting the number of games that he wants.
“He has an outstanding attitude and he works very hard in training. Our job is just to be ready when you are needed for the club and he does that very well.”
