ENGERRRRRLAND 2-1 Wales. What a performance that was. In truth, it was a game the Three Lions were always expected to win against a solid Dragons side and was only made as dramatic as it eventually was by the flappy hands of Joe Hart.
Although the big story is Roy Hodgson’s double half-time move that saw Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge both come on to net the vital goals in the win, did the BBC drop a massive bombshell along the way?
Well, eagle eyed viewers of the website’s live coverage of the game spotted that Vardy was described as an Arsenal player when he poked home his equalising goal. Of course the 29-year-old has been linked with the Gunners of late with a £20m bid on the table, but he remains a Leicester man, right?
Perhaps this was merely a mistake from a reporter doing his or her best to get the updates out there. Or could it be an accidental slip hinting at the Three Lions star’s immediate future?
We’ll have to wait and see…
