Arsenal fans were hoping to see their team build on their 1-0 half-time lead at the Emirates against QPR.
Alexis Sanchez put them a goal to the good in the first half and looked lively enough to potentially get another couple in the second 45 minutes. But now Arsenal have a bit of a job on their hands.
Olivier Giroud received a straight red card for head butting QPR defender Needum Onouha just ten minutes in to the second half, leaving Arsenal a man down and yet another sidelined player during the busy festive period.
And, as you can imagine, Arsenal fans were furious on Twitter…
Twitter needs a 'Ffs Giroud' button. Tired of tweeting it every week.

Giroud will NEVER be a Premier League winning striker. Slow and stupid. #afc

Well that was utterly stupid from Olivier Giroud! Can't be gorgeous and have brains, I suppose.

Giroud sent off! http://t.co/18GmEAICdX

Ferdinand grabbed Giroud's neck after the incident. Surely that had to be a red too.

No excuse for Giroud's reaction but the QPR player should really be rushed straight off to hospital for an MRI on such a severe head butt!

If you're going to head-butt him, do him properly. Leave him floored. Poor & weak by Giroud.

Giroud gets to spend the rest of Christmas with his family

Players like Giroud are holding us back.
