Arsenal plan to hold talks with club legend Thierry Henry regarding the manager's vacancy, according to Sky Sports News.

What's the word?

The Gunners' hunt for Arsene Wenger's successor is into overdrive now that the season has come to an end.

Numerous names have been linked to the position, and now club legend Henry is believed to be a candidate.

Sky Sports News claims that the North London outfit will hold talks with Henry in the coming days.

The broadcaster adds that Mikel Arteta remains the frontrunner for the role following positive discussions with Arsenal's hierarchy.

The Spaniard has been working alongside Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola for the past two years as part of the successful boss's coaching staff.

As for Henry, he has been assistant to Belgium national team manager Roberto Martinez since 2016.

Should Arsenal seriously consider Henry?

There is nothing wrong with the Gunners gauging the thoughts of the club hero now that Wenger has stepped down.

However, the Premier League giants are in danger of being too traditional by hiring figures that will pull at the heartstrings of the fans.

Henry, who won five league titles during his playing career, is certainly a huge favourite for everyone associated with Arsenal, but the Frenchman is inexperienced when it comes to managing at a high level.

Even though a transitional period is expected at the Emirates now that Wenger has walked away, it will not take long for the fans to demand success.

The pressure is on for whoever takes the position, but there is a risk that the relationship between Henry and the fans could be soured f the former striker struggles.

On the flip side, the Sky Sports pundit would strengthen his legendary status if he guided the Gunners back to the top echelons of the Premier League table.
