Arsenal want a striker before the transfer window closes and are not chasing either of Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez or Julian Draxler of Wolfsburg, according to BBC Sport’s David Ornstein.
The Gunners have endured a quiet summer window so far, with Granit Xhaka the marquee addition in north London.
As well as the Swiss star, Takuma Asano and Rob Holding have been snapped up, but with an injury crisis at the back and a lack of forward options, rumours of further signings to address these issues have been swirling of late.
Among the mooted names, Mahrez and Draxler have emerged as big money targets, but Ornstein has taken to Twitter to reveal that Arsenal are not chasing either player, although a centre-forward is wanted:
“#AFC interested in signing Valencia defender Mustafi. No bid yet + others inc #CFC keen. Also want a striker but not pursuing Mahrez/Draxler.”

Mahrez starred for Leicester as they won the Premier League last term, scooping the PFA Player of the Year Award, while Draxler starred for his nation at EURO 2016.
