”Danny is a top, top player, there’s absolutely no doubt in my mind about that. And I believe he could play in any of the top teams around Europe.” He is quoted by The Mirror.
“When I was Sunderland manager four years ago, I took Danny on loan for a season because he was at the stage of his development where he needed to go and play week-in, week-out in the Premier League.
“I got the boy, and then sent him back to United a man. And, after working with him, I know for sure that he’s good enough to get into any side, anywhere.
“Believe me, you stick him down the middle as a striker and he will score plenty, that’s for sure.”
