HYS: Arteta or Emery – who would do a better job at Arsenal?

Arsene Wenger’s departure from Arsenal has been a long time coming but when it finally came to pass, the club reacted like it was a total shock to the system.

Max Allegri, the Juventus manager who is the polar opposite of Wenger, looked to be the top target but the Gunners were unable to lure him so two new main contenders emerged.

Mikel Arteta, the club’s former captain looked set for the hotseat but former PSG and Sevilla manager Unai Emery now looks the prime candidate for the top job.

The Spaniard has an impressive trophy haul to his name – more major pots than Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp combined – but his methods – namely staunch commitment to video analysis and slightly defensive style – may not get everyone excited.

However, Arteta has never managed a professional game of football in his life and that lack of experience is a worry when taking over from such an iconic manager.

That’s why we’re asking you; who would do a better job of succeeding Wenger – Arteta or Emery? Let us know by voting in the poll below…
