Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arrived at the Emirates to much fanfare on transfer deadline day.

The man the Gunners top brass had wanted for months was finally here, and just in time to fill the void left by the departing Alexis Sanchez.

The Gabonese centre-forward lived up to the hype in his debut at the Emirates, as he scored Arsenal's fourth in a 5-1 rout over Everton, but he has flattered to deceive in his two outings since.

Against Spurs he cut an isolated figure, with just 20% of the game's action happening in Tottenham's final third (WhoScored), and his chance at grabbing a goal at Wembley on Sunday was snuffed out by a last-ditch challenge by Kyle Walker.

In fairness to the ex-Dortmund man, his sample size so far in North London gives little to go on, but with forward-thinking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan also signing in January and Alexandre Lacazette already established as Arsenal's go-to centre-forward - is a club-record £56m simply too dear for Aubameyang?
