During Arsenal’s disappointing 1-1 draw with Wolves at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, left-back Sead Kolasinac failed to produce the kind of performance that will see him usurp Nacho Monreal as the first-choice option.

With the Spaniard currently injured, Kolasinac is as good as assured of getting a spell in the side. If he fails to impress, though, then his future with the Gunners must be questioned.

Since joining as a free agent in the summer of 2017, the 24-cap Bosnia and Herzegovina international has failed to consistently impress in the Premier League and has looked to be a defensive liability on a number of occasions.

With Monreal ageing, Unai Emery will soon need to identify a new first-choice left-back. If the Spanish coach is forced to buy a player to fill that role, rather than promote Kolasinac, then the 25-year-old must consider his Arsenal career to be dead in the water.

As things stand, he is utterly failing to convince that he has what it takes to assume Monreal’s senior position when the time comes.

What do you think, Arsenal fans - does Kolasinac have a future with the Gunners under Emery?
