Henrikh Mkhitaryan produced an extremely poor performance for Arsenal against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium last time out. The Armenian spurned several presentable opportunities, repeatedly lost possession of the ball in key areas, and failed to contribute enough defensively.
His display against the impressive Cherries wasn’t that unusual for the Armenian though, who has regularly struggled to produce his best since his arrival in the Premier League.
Which team is the dominant force in London right now? Playmaker FC’s Tom Skinner has a very unpopular opinion on the matter. Check it out in the video below…
Having failed to shine at Manchester United, the 29-year-old arrived at the Emirates Stadium as part of a swap deal in January. The move, though, aside from one or two fleeting moments of quality, has failed to spark the attacking midfielder back into life.
The 78-cap Armenia international joined the north London club on a long-term contract, worth £120,000 per week – making him the Gunners’ fourth-highest paid current player – according to Spotrac.
With Mkhitaryan failing to perform under Unai Emery, and proving a drain on the club’s precious wage resources, Arsenal may consider cashing in on the former Borussia Dortmund man. Considering how much damage must have been done to the No. 7’s reputation since he left the German club though, the Gunners may find he proves harder to attract a big fee for than they might hope.
Mkhitaryan’s Transfermarkt valuation is £31.5 million but he falls far short of that on current form.
What do you think, Arsenal fans, how much do you think Mkhitaryan is worth?
